For this collage I started the background with Pan Pastels and a stencil. After I have completed it, I started to journal everywhere what really came to my mind (I rarely journal). Later on I decided to collage and paint over those phrases, I wouldn't be ashamed if something is legible right now, I wrote about the piece and how I felt doing it but I really don't like my handwriting.
The paper I used as in almost all my collages are mainly Gelli prints and this time I used mostly magazines to print on.
Hi friends,
This is an old post but due to the popularity, I wanted to repost it here.
The video is about how to emboss metal sticky foil and paint it with alcohol inks, hope you enjoy it!
For those of you don't know how to use embossing folders, I have a photo tutorial at the bottom of this post.
In this case, I finished the piece by covering it with black paint and wipping out almost all to just let some darker spots.
Other examples using the same technique with another embossing folder.
Black paint added
No gesso
How to use embossing folders
First you'll need an Embossing/Die Machine like Sizzix - Texture Boutique Embossing Machine Only, Sizzix - Big Shot, Spellbinders - Grand Calibur (any will work).
You'll also need an embossing folder . The ones I used here are Embossing Folders - Bingo and Patchwork Set , Embossing Folders - Numbers and Letters and Checkerboard and Cracked Set but there are TONS of designs.
Insert you paper into the embossing folder
Run it through your machine (follow the instructions of your specific device).
You're done!
